Teaching History

One of the things I am most excited to do as a future educator is teaching history. I have looked at different tools to help students learn for this blog.

One resource I looked at was DocsTeach. This is a resource I used as a student when writing papers and doing projects, and I never knew that it could be used as a tool. This tool has many primary sources, like documents and pictures, and to use them, teachers can create activities on their website for students to work with. Teachers adding to this tool can spotlight different parts of the resource to know their students have to pay attention to it. An example of a tool is allowing students to answer questions on the website about a document the teacher would have already selected.

Another resource is Ben's Guide. This is a website for students with games for students to play relating to U.S geography, word searches, crosswords, puzzles, and a quiz on the branches of government. This tool also has short learning adventures about different topics, so before starting a lesson, you can allow the students to gain background knowledge before starting.
